From Fear to Freedom: My Story and Why I'm Here
The Short Version of a Long Journey
Hi, I’m Heidi. If you’ve landed here carrying fear or anxiety, I want you to know two things right away: you are in the right place, and you are not alone.
My life did not begin peacefully. I was born in Germany to a single mother, and my earliest years were split between her care and foster care. When I was two and a half, I was adopted and brought to Michigan. My physical needs were met, but there was an emptiness inside me that nothing seemed to reach. Fear and heaviness filled the home I grew up in, and by the time I was eleven I had my first panic attack. From then on, fear stopped feeling like a visitor and started acting like a permanent resident.
Then Something Changed
For years I assumed that was simply who I was, a person wired for worry. But God had a different story in mind. As I began to sit with His Word, I found truths that were not only comforting but practical. Little by little my mind was renewed and my heart began to soften, and the peace I had chased my whole life turned out to be something I could actually live in.
That was not a one-time fix. It was the beginning of a whole new way of living.
Why I’m Here
Since 2015, I have felt a clear calling to help others reclaim that same peace, to rise as victors rather than stay stuck as victims of the past. That is the heart behind everything on this site: honest encouragement rooted in Scripture, from someone who has walked the road.
If your heart is tired, start here. Read a little. Breathe a little. Freedom is closer than it feels.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. — 2 Timothy 1:7
I am so glad you are here.
A gentle note: I am a faith-based life coach, not a licensed counselor or medical professional. What I share is spiritual encouragement and is not a substitute for professional care. If you are struggling, please reach out to a trusted doctor or counselor alongside these truths.
