Your Body Is Not the Enemy: Rest as an Act of Faith

The Pressure to Keep Going

Many of us treat rest as something to earn, or worse, as failure. We push our bodies like they are machines and feel guilty the moment we slow down. But your body is not the enemy, and rest is not weakness.

Rest as Trust

When I finally stop and rest, I am quietly saying that the world does not depend on me, and that God can hold things while I sleep. That is not laziness. That is faith. Even in the creation story, rest was built into the rhythm of life on purpose.

Gentle Stewardship

Caring for your body can be simple and kind: enough sleep, water, a little movement you enjoy, moments outside. This is not about strict rules or punishing yourself. It is about treating the body God gave you with respect.

One Kind Choice

Ask yourself what one gentle thing your body needs today, and give it that. Rest is a gift. Receive it.
